Huntington’s Victoria (HV) is a not-for profit organisation that was formed by several Huntington’s disease (HD) community members in 1973 to provide a safe, trusted space to receive support. Since this time, it has continued to evolve from a community-run entity into a professionally-run organisation. The community-focused collaborative nature of the organisation, in association with the complex nature of the disease, has inevitably led to Huntington’s Victoria being the first point of contact for those seeking support.read more

The annual HV Community Day is being turned into a two day virtual conference this year.
Huntington’s Victoria CEO Tammy Gardner said the COVID-19 pandemic would not stop the expanded event going ahead for the community on Saturday December 5 and December 6.read more

New research involving the HD community is set to begin after Huntington’s Victoria secured grant funding from the NDIS Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program.
The research will aim to take a closer look at the prevalence of HD as well as the number of people receiving funded support including whether the services available match the needs, expectations and goals of community members.read more

Some of Victoria’s most prominent landmarks will light up in blue in October to raise awareness about Huntington’s disease.
The global Light it Up 4 HD initiative usually takes place in May, but the COVID restrictions in Victoria forced a change in timing.read more
